Lavender, an aromatic, purifying and relaxing fragrance

Imagine a light breeze caressing the purple fields of Provence. Lavender instantly transports you to the south of France and invites you on a sensory journey. An emblematic flower of this sunny region, lavender alone embodies a certain idea of well-being and summer sweetness.

Its characteristics.

Native to the mountainous regions of the Mediterranean basin, true lavender (lavandula angustifolia) thrives between 800 and 1800 meters above sea level. Lavandin is a variety of lavender, born from the cross between lavandula vera and lavandula spica, with generally fuller flowers. Lavandin represents 80% of the areas dedicated to lavender in Provence.

Its olfactory profile.

True lavender essence reveals a floral, sweet, and slightly herbaceous fragrance with nuances reminiscent of bergamot. Lavandin offers a more intense, camphor-like scent with fresh, slightly woody notes. Both are obtained through steam distillation.

Its virtues and benefits.

True lavender oil has antiseptic and healing properties and promotes sleep. Lavandin oil, which is more concentrated in camphor, is known for its antispasmodic and antibacterial properties. It is recommended for joint and muscle pain, as well as for stress and nervousness. It can also be used for skin infections and insect bites due to its healing properties. Finally, Lavandin essential oil is used for its cleansing and purifying effects through the atmosphere.
